Shamsiya completed a double degree in Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Journalism and Professional Writing at the University of South Australia. She was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of South Australia in July 2021.
Before joining Work Visa Lawyers, Shamsiya worked as an Immigration Lawyer in Melbourne. She has also worked as a Journalist at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) reporting on various local and national stories.

Shamsiya’s interest in migration law stems from her extensive work with migrant communities through the Australian Refugee Association and Welcoming Australia. Shamsiya understands the barriers faced by clients and hopes to make the migration process easier and more accessible for her clients.
