Move to South Australia Replaces Immigration SA - Requirement Changes

Rebrand to “Move to South Australia - Skilled + Business Migration”

https://www.migration.sa.gov.au/ now has a new look.

We noticed that Immigration South Australia has changed its name to Move to South Australia.

New Move to South Australia Logo

Move to South Australia has updated its criteria for interim 491 and 190 nominations to support and prioritise South Australia’s economic recovery and public health response.

We have published changes to the other state nomination programs here: https://www.workvisalawyers.com.au/news/all/state-territory-nominations-opening-for-190-and-491-visas.html

Move to South Australia has made quite a few changes to how the old systems operated.

SA State Nomination Interim Requirements August 2020 to October 2020 for Business and Skilled Migration

Skilled Migration - 491 visa and 190 visa

The old skilled migration state nomination model for 491 visa and 190 visa has been flipped.

An invitation to submit an online application for state-nomination will be sent to prospective applicants with EOIs that meet Commonwealth and South Australian priorities.

No occupation list

There is currently no occupation list for South Australia state nomination.

The Move to South Australia Occupations List will be available from mid-October 2020.

This means that for the interim August 2020 to October 2020, South Australia might choose any candidates listed in the 491 visa or 190 visa occupation lists.

Request for Information from Move to South Australia

Move to South Australia have indicated that they may request more information from you to help them considering your EOI.

They have made it clear that this does not mean that you will be invited

We expect that this will be an important part of how Move to South Australia make their decisions, as they have previously had a strong focus on candidates who have key retention factors such as:

  • Ongoing employment in South Australia
  • A period of living and working in South Australia
  • Limited history in other states in Australia

We expected requests for information might be focused around these points.

Business Migration - 132 visa and 188 visa

Move to South Australia will be focused on securing high quality operators who can make a large positive contribution to the South Australian economy, industry and employment outcomes.
